2017 Fair Location and Date Announced

The 2017 Valley Disaster Preparedness Fair will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Northridge Fashion Center in the northwest portion of the Pacific Theaters parking lot, 9400 Shirley Ave. Click here for GPS coordinates.

Frank Borden Frank Borden, retired LAFD Assistant Chief and “father” of Community Emergency Response Team, will tell you about CERT, how it got started in Los Angeles, and spread to the rest of our Nation.

Dr. Jill Barnes Dr. Jill Barnes, Ph.D., Office of Emergency Services, School Operations, on how LAUSD schools prepare for and respond to emergencies and disasters.

Eric BoldtEric Boldt, Warning Coordination Meteorologist at National Weather Service in Oxnard, will cover severe weather and how you can prepare for adverse impacts.

Tanya YarbroughTanya Yarbrough will guide you through a session on Pet Prepared-ness and how to get your pet(s) trained and ready for a quick evacuation.

Dan Tomlinson Dan Tomlinson, ACS Battalion 10 Communications Coordinator, will demonstrate and explain how to use any two-way radio to communicate effectively, efficiently, and succinctly in a disaster or emergency situation.
